Join the National Institute for Innovation and Technology for a critical discussion on how we can bridge the gap between the K-12 education system and high-demand careers in the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industries through apprenticeships. 

 

As part of the U.S. Department of Labor’s first Youth Apprenticeship Week (YAW), this live virtual panel will be held on May 7, 2024, and will engage experts from academia and industry to explore alternative career pathways to meet the growing demand for the future workforce. 

 

This accelerator will feature insights from:

• Dr. Laura Marmolejo, Austin Community College

• Richard Turner, Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association

• Selena Berry, AeroStar Avion Institute
   

This panel will address the common myths surrounding vocational education and emphasize the in-demand, lucrative careers that apprenticeships can lead to. By connecting educational providers with industry leaders, we aim to debunk myths and highlight the practical, valuable pathways available to youth today.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions online during the panel, allowing for real-time engagement and clarification on the topics discussed.
